2 min read

Hampshire FA has entered into a 1 year partnership with the Rising Phoenix Cheerleading programme based in Basingstoke.

Rising Phoenix are based in Aldworth School in Basingstoke; the programme provides first class training by coaches that are highly qualified, experienced, knowledgeable and infectious in their passion for Cheerleading, offering athletes a secure, rewarding and fun environment to learn new skills, build on existing ones and to reach their full potential.

Hampshire FA is entering into a new partnership with Rising Phoenix Cheer that will see the athletes perform various routines at selected Hampshire FA cup finals pre-match and during half time, offering a new theme at events hosted in partnership with Hampshire FA. The group will also look to perform football-inspired routines to promote the grassroots game adding a new theme to cup finals and events.

Additionally, the partnership will also see Soccercise used in warm-ups when the participants train, ensuring that football still has a strong emphasis whilst at the same time engaging non-participants. Rising Phoenix Cheer will also play a pivotal role in the promotion of Girls Football Week by delivering a soccercise session with the support of Hampshire FA this October, ensuring that football remains a strong focus in the sessions as part of the new partnership.

Hampshire FA Business Support Officer, Isabella Sakias discussing the partnership says: “We are delighted to be entering into a new partnership with Rising Phoenix Cheer which will add value to our core product and show a strong, committed partnership of how two different sporting activities, can come together and work together to support one another. We are always looking for ways to engage with non-football participants and this is one such way we have identified the link.

The fact that Rising Phoenix will perform at our events will provide them with the stage to promote their set-up but more so will add value to our work through the promotion and marketing of football and our brand as an association. The football-inspired choreography will spread a better, more visual message about football and our association; we are always open to new ways of marketing the game, our brand and with the help of Rising Phoenix Cheer, it is evident we have a shared ambition to see this partnership work long-term”

Amanda Stait, Rising Phoenix Cheer’s Programme Director discussing the partnership with Hampshire FA says: “We are very excited about our Partnership with Hampshire FA and are looking forward to working together. We aim to raise awareness of Cheerleading in Hampshire alongside encouraging more females into sport, particularly football or cheerleading.
